Afterburners (pictured) and I both went to Drakesbad to see if our packages arrived in morning mail. Hers had, not mine. No filter for me.

I left Drakesbad and began a short climb but mostly easy hiking for most of the day to Hat Creek. I wasn’t carrying a bear canister so I had to be exit the national park. An extra 3 can miles brought me to the creek. The terrain would slowly change over the next few days and become dryer and hotter.

I’ve worked to a page that I’ve fallen in a group of hikers and am beginning to see them more frequently.
