Lost

Passing Cottonwood Pass, I didn’t expect to see anyone. It was surprisingly “busy.” Two hikers came by my camp at about 10:30 at night trying to find the trail. The next morning, I came upon a father and son who were lost and hadn’t seen anyone for two days. They were trying to get to Independence but had lost the trail. I gave them directions and they were very grateful.

Over the course of the final days, I saw at least a hiker or two each day.
