Days 4-7: Into the State of Jefferson

I arrived at the small town of Seiad Valley. The Wildwood Tavern, a former stop along the PCT, had just been reopened. They serve great lunch and dinner with fresh ingredients. Their pies are baked fresh – brought in from Ashland – and served á la mode. Seiad Valley is located in the State of Jefferson, a part of Northern California/Southern Oregon that had planned on seceding before WWII.

Leaving Seiad Valley, I stayed in a rustic, Forest Service campground. A deer ate through my tent to try to get some food.
