Days 10 – 12: Rocks with Goats thru Kracker Barrel

The past few days have been difficult. The hiking has been slow, lots of climbs and descents. No problems with the hip, but my knee has felt the pressure of the descents.

That said, this section of the Goat Rocks is the most beautiful I’ve seen on the PCT outside of the Sierras. The vistas of Ranier and Adams can’t be beat.

Speaking of beat… That’s me, too. There’s been snow on the trail – just a bit – and taking the Old Snowy Alternate I was able to bypass the worst of it.

I’ve had some beautiful campsites, too. Last night, a cliffside campsite near Hidden Spring. As I write this, I’m by a lake, in a beautiful campsite, by myself. Probably bc it’s not mentioned in FarOut except vaguely in some comments. And I’m sitting with my first campfire of the trip.

Miles these days: 37.4. Total hiked: 151.1 PCT location: 2298.1
